Silk Road Resources extends mineralization at its Bulagou property during the 2007 drilling program

TORONTO, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - Silk Road Resources Ltd. (TSXV: SIL)
("Silk Road" or the "Company") is pleased to announce diamond drill results
carried out from Yidi and Labuzaika prospects of the Bulagou property in Gansu
Province of China. Drilling was carried out on ten drill holes totaling
2,394 meters. The purpose of the drilling was to test out the extensions of
zones of mineralization outline during the 2006 drilling program at Yidi and
Labuziaka within the Bulagou property. The drilling commenced October 26, 2007
and was completed on November 21, 2007 due to the onset of winter.
The best intersection was 38.7 meters returning 2.04 gm Au/t in hole
LAB-07-15 drilled as a step out 60 meters to the north of last years LAB-06-7
identified as Zone 3. The intersection in LAB-07-15 started at 51.8 meters and
continued to 89.6 meters. This mineralization is close to surface, open to the
north at depth and will require more drilling to assess its potential for bulk
mining. The Zone 3 is now open along strike for 260 meters at to depth.
The Yidi Zone has been extended to the south by 200 meters and a deeper
hole drilled at the northern end intersected mineralization indicating that
the mineralization continues to depth over 600 meters. The best intersections
were; YD-07-10 from 344.4-348.05 meters, 3.9 gmAu/t/3.65m ; YD-07-11 from
180.8-186.75 meters, 2.7 gmAu/t/ 5.95m and YD-07-14 from 134.1-135.1 meters,
18.9 gmAu/t/1.0m. Surface prospecting indicates that this Yidi Zone is still
open along strike to the south.
Drilling along the extension of Zone 4 as identified by last year's
drilling did not intersect any gold assays of significance.

    Drill results are summarized below:

NOTE: Due to the distribution of the drill results the true widths cannot
          be determined.

This drilling, along with the previous results released indicate the
potentials of Yidi and Zone 3 to develop an overall structure some 1.5 km
north-south and to a depth of over 600 meters.
Mineralization within the Bulagou property is hosted by vertically
dipping, north-south striking mineralized quartz veins in an altered sheared
diorite intrusive stock. This stock is some 5 km wide (east-west) and 6 km
(north-south). To date the current diamond drilling carried out by the Company
has concentrated on the northwestern part of the stock where as several other
sites to the east have yet to be tested with mineralization similar to Yidi
and Labuziaka.
A new zone of intense alteration and mineralization was made within the
eastern part of the Bulagou Property one kilometer southeast of Xiakanmuchang
and is referred as Xiakanmuchang East. A chip sample was carried out over a
44 meter width of this zone returning an average of 0.32 grams gold. This will
require more detailed mapping and sampling during the 2008 season along with
investigating the potentials for sampling mapping and drilling at
Xiakanmuchang.
The drilling program was undertaken by Huafeng Drilling Co. Ltd. of
Chengdu, using modern Atlas Copco CS1000/P6 and Longyear LF90 rigs.
Conventional fire assays were carried out at the SGS Tianjin Laboratory which
is certified to ISO 9002 standards or higher and the Quality Assurance System
standard, ISO 17025. Split core samples were prepared at Gansu Central
Laboratory in Lanzhou, where the prep facilities and procedures were inspected
and approved by the SGS personnel. QA/QC programs using internal and external
standards, duplicates and blanks indicate good accuracy and precision to the
assays. Half of the core was retained by the Company in secure storage for
future reference.
The drilling program at Yidi-Labuzaika is supervised by Guy Della Valle,
the consulting geologist for the Company. These drill results were prepared
under the guidance of Barry Price (M.Sc., P.Geo.) who is independent of the
Company and is a "qualified person" as such term is defined under National
Instrument 43-101 and has approved the content of this news release.
The Company acknowledges and appreciates your support and looks forward
to 2008.
