TORONTO, Sept. 2 /CNW/ - Medworxx, the makers of a strategic software
platform that hospitals use to communicate, aggregate, and analyze knowledge,
is excited to announce that Sherman Hospital is using the Medworxx Policy &
Procedure Management System to manage their physician order sets, protocols
and policies and procedures. Sherman's innovative use of the Medworxx Policy &
Procedure Management System for physician order sets and protocols is a
testament to the power and flexibility of the Medworxx document management
platform. Sherman Hospital is part of Sherman Health, a leading healthcare
system in the far Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
The Medworxx solution has enabled Sherman Hospital to stop using a
paper-based system and to store all of their current physician orders sets and
protocols in one central area.
"We were looking for a solution that was easy to maintain and roll out to
our staff," said Deborah Camacho, Quality Manager, Sherman Health. "The
Medworxx Policy & Procedure Management System allows us to access order sets
and protocols from our intranet. By accessing this information online, we are
assured that our employees are using the most current version."
Physician order sets and protocols are a set of surgical or procedural
orders that doctors use when patients are admitted to the hospital.
Sherman Hospital is benefiting from many of the standard features of the
Medworxx platform such as the ability to easily search for, find, and update
documents. The reporting capability was also important to Sherman. The
physician orders sets and protocols need to be reviewed every two years and
the reports allow Sherman to see which order sets needs to be reviewed and by
whom. Notifications are then sent out by the system to remind the reviewer of
the up-coming due date.
"It is very rewarding to see the Medworxx platform being used in such an
innovative way. We are always happy to see our products being used in a way
beyond what was initially intended," said Dan Matlow, President & CEO,
Medworxx. "The Medworxx Policy & Procedure Management System allows
organizations to increase compliance, reduce costs, and increase productivity,
and we thank Sherman Hospital for showing us another example of the great
versatility of this product."
