Shell to use Kangaroo TV(R) for Paddock, F1 Team garage and Track Lab tours

Kangaroo TV develops new application to integrate Shell and F1 team
bespoke content during Grand Prix races

MIRABEL, Canada, BAAR, Switzerland and KUALA LAMPUR, Malaysia, April 3
/CNW Telbec/ - Shell, one of the first global brands to embrace Kangaroo TV in
the F1 Paddock and Paddock Club(R) in 2006, is moving the needle again and has
signed a new three-year agreement with Kangaroo TV to deliver its VIP guests
with improved wireless and state of the art bespoke applications, including
Video on Demand content.
During each Formula One weekend, Shell is involved in sophisticated
at-track hosting operations with the Scuderia Ferrari. Every Shell guest gets
an elaborate tour through the famed team facilities, benefitting from an
in-depth view of the busy race preparations, tracking and analysis. The
innovative Kangaroo TV application will allow Shell's guests to tour the
Paddock, Ferrari garage and Shell Track Lab facilities using a virtual 2D
navigation menu launching bespoke video clips and audio guided tours in
several languages. This new feature is meant to complement the excitement of
being in the Paddock and at the circuit and to allow Shell to welcome and
cater to more guests while sharing with them the in-depth relationship and
contribution the company has had to the legendary Scuderia Ferrari success.
"Kangaroo TV has been an integral part of the Shell's F1 hospitality
program for the past three years and it is difficult to remember how we were
able to convey the rich and exciting Formula One experience to our guests and
VIPs before using their device," said Stuart Humm, Sponsorships Manager, Shell
Brands International AG. "The Kangaroo TV device gives our guests an exclusive
'inside view' into the team, the race preparations as well as everything out
on the circuit itself. However in 2009, thanks to this new guided tour Video
on Demand application, we are taking our guests' fan experience to a new
level."
"As a team sponsor, Shell quickly understood the spectator value of our
technology and was among the first major sponsors to introduce Kangaroo TV to
its guests so they could better follow and understand the entire race,"
explained Alain Charette, Kangaroo TV's Europe Business Development executive.
"We are pleased with this three year commitment and grateful for the trust
this global brand has shown us over the years."
Kangaroo TV provides access to the main F1 international race broadcast,
in-car driver cameras, team radio audio, including driver-to-pit
conversations, live commentary and radio play-by-play when available, race
timekeeping, leader board and statistics in real-time, current event news and
information, biographic files on teams and drivers.
