Seven major nanotechnology research centres to receive NanoQuébec funding totalling nearly $7 million over three years

MONTREAL, Oct. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Directors of NanoQuébec met
this morning to consider the report of the international assessment committee.
The funding program has two primary objectives. The first is to ensure the
stability and accessibility of the research platforms required for competitive
research and the development of new applications; the second is to maximize
the use of these facilities in order to propel Quebec into a national and
international leadership position in nanotechnology.

The following seven facilities were selected. Six applications were
accepted and the seventh received a favourable conditional response.
