Today is Lunch Money Day!

WHO: Second Harvest, volunteers, businesses, schools and donors.
WHAT: Second Harvest's Lunch Money Day presented by the Mackenzie
Financial Charitable Foundation.
WHERE: TTC subway stations - hundreds of volunteers, wearing chef
hats, will be collecting donations during the morning and
Calphalon Culinary Center - (King St. W. & Spadina) - will be
cooking up a vegetarian pasta and salad with a minimum $5
donation going to Second Harvest.
The Second City - (Toronto Comedy Theatre) - is directing $5
from every ticket sold today, purchased on-line or at the box
office, to Second Harvest with a goal of $10,000.
Sobeys - (GTA locations) - is offering $2 Second Harvest
donation coupons at the check out.
Starbucks - (participating GTA locations) - is directing a
portion of proceeds from the sale of their turkey sandwich and
orzo salad to Second Harvest.
Online - the public can visit lunchmoneyday.com to support
their company or school by donating online.
WHY: To feed the hungry.
About Second Harvest: Every day, Second Harvest picks up donated, high
quality fresh food, which would otherwise have gone to waste, and delivers
that food to approximately 250 social service programs across the GTA. Second
Harvest currently provides enough food for over 15,000 meals a day to children
in after-school programs, seniors on fixed incomes, women fleeing domestic
abuse, psychiatric patients, homeless people, and many others who have fallen
on hard times.
