TORONTO, Sept. 29 /CNW/ - enRoute Magazine announced today that the
second annual Palm(R) enRoute Awards in Mobility Design cocktail and awards
ceremony is set to take place at Nyood Restaurant at 1096 Queen Street West at
6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in Toronto, Ontario.
The Palm enRoute Awards in Mobility Design honor ingenious ideas designed
to take flight. Submissions have been reviewed from acclaimed and
up-and-coming designers with innovative ideas for helping highly mobile
Canadians live better, smarter, and faster. The grand prize winner will
receive $5,000 and a design-themed trip to New York in October 2008. The prize
includes return airfare and 3-nights accommodation at the 60 Thompson Hotel.
The three honorable mentions will each receive a Palm Treo(TM)
"Our goal is to make this annual event a reference for the best Canadian
designers, whether veterans or newcomers. This showcase gives them a unique
opportunity to test new ideas and to approach their creative work outside of
all the usual constraints. In this way, we hope to help people discover

This year's jury includes some of the most influential tastemakers in
both art and design: acclaimed science-fiction writer William Gibson,
industrial designer Matthew Kroeker, Montreal design commissioner Marie-Josée
Lacroix, Palm Canada director of marketing Janice Keay and enRoute art
director Reanna Evoy.
