Sears Canada Issues a Safety Notice for Certain Craftsman Air Compressors

TORONTO, Feb. 7 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. (TSX: SCC) today is issuing a safety notice for certain Craftsman air compressors. It has been discovered that the air compressor motor can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

The affected air compressors were sold at Sears Canada retail stores, online at www.sears.ca, and through the Sears Canada catalogue from September 2001 to June 2006. The Sears regular selling price was $349.99 and $399.99. The affected model numbers are as follows:

In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers who own an affected compressor to cease use immediately and contact the manufacturer DeVilbiss at 1-866-220-5627 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for information about a free repair. Alternatively customers can also visit the company's website at www.devap.com.
