Scotiabank President Rick Waugh participates in the Native Centre Foundation's annual fundraiser

TORONTO, March 26 /CNW/ - Scotiabank President and CEO Rick Waugh,
together with members of Toronto's Aboriginal community, raised more than
$20,000 this evening at Scotia Plaza for the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto
and Mishkaowjiwan, the Native Centre Foundation.
The Centre's annual fundraising event for a new facility to accommodate
the needs of the growing Native population in the City of Toronto featured a
Métis jig with Métis dancers and fiddlers.
"Scotiabank is dedicated to building and maintaining meaningful and
long-lasting relationships with the Aboriginal community through employment
initiatives, business partnerships and local community efforts like those of
the Native Canadian Centre," said Mr. Waugh. "The Centre offers cultural,
artistic and spiritual programs that reaffirm what it means to be a member of
the Aboriginal community and we're very pleased to support this fine
initiative."

The Native Canadian Centre of Toronto is a community-based non-profit
organization, which provides a gathering place to deliver programs and
services for Native people while striving to reflect the traditional Native
cultural perspective.
