Adding to its leading portfolio of mobile applications, ScoreMobile
releases innovative SMS experience that gets mobile users interacting
with The Score Television Network
TORONTO, Oct. 1 /CNW/ - ScoreMobile today announced the release of Score
Predictor, a North American first, mobile fantasy sports application that
enables viewers to interact with their TV using their phone from the comfort
of their own couch or wherever they may be. Through a partnership with MyThum
Interactive, Score Predictor gives fans the opportunity to text in their picks
for the outcome of three games per day per league, as league schedules permit,
with the top performers being recognized on The Score Television Network.
"Score Predictor brings a very public social dimension to fantasy sports,
which are usually played online," says Dale Fallon, Director, Mobile, Score
Media Inc. "The convenience of SMS messaging combined with the broad reach of
television is something that our fans crave and that's why we've created this
unique offering. We piloted this application earlier this summer and received
a great deal of positive feedback from our fans making our decision to take
this application to the next level an easy one."
Partnering with MyThum Interactive, a leading innovator in Interactive
Television Solutions, Score Predictor is an application that gives fans the
chance to be heard and be recognized for predicting the right outcome of sets
of games. Their nicknames, predictions and trash talk will be aired on The
Score Television Network giving participants their few minutes of fame for
being the true, hardcore sports fans that they are.
"Score Predictor enables a deeper level of viewer interaction with the
broadcast as well as with other sports fantasy experts," says Michael Carter,
President and CEO, MyThum. "Viewers want to be fully engaged in their sports
and this is one way to take sports TV to the next level. We look forward to
giving Score viewers the opportunity to prove themselves as fantasy experts
through the convenience of the mobile device."
Beginning with the NFL football and NHL hockey seasons, Score Predictor
will soon be available to sports fans throughout all major sports seasons. As
an added incentive, a 50" plasma TV will be drawn from amongst players this
fall, with the most successful prognosticators having the greatest chance to
win. Weekly winners will also be awarded prizes giving participants several
chances to win with Score Predictor.
"We are truly excited about bringing Score Predictor to our fans and look
forward to continuing to build on our exciting pipeline of mobile innovations
in the future," says Fallon.
