MONTREAL, May 8 /CNW Telbec/ - In response to the articles published in
The Gazette, The Société de gestion des équipements publics (Sogep) would like
to clarify certain issues.
Sogep was not aware of the fact the building where they rent an office on
Champ d'eau street in Saint-Leonard is owned by a company whose owner has a
judicial file and could be linked to the mafia as reported in today's edition
of The Gazette.
Sogep also states that the hiring of Mr. Domenico Pietrantonio is related
to the fact that he possesses all of the experience and expertise necessary to
manage the parks of the borough as he occupied a similar position for several
years with Sodem, the company that previously had the mandate to manage the
recreation structures of Saint-Leonard.
Sogep obtained the contract following a request for public tenders. The
Company has respected all of the attribution rules of the contract specified
by the law and presented a proposal that offered the lowest bid allowing the
district to optimize its human, financial and material resources for the
benefit of Saint-Leonard residents.
