BRAMPTON, ON, April 22 /CNW/ - International comedy sensation and 2009
Juno host Russell Peters will bring his 20th Anniversary Tour to Brampton's
Powerade Centre on Saturday, September 26, making a special stop in his
hometown to benefit William Osler Health Centre Foundation.
Peters, who still has strong ties to Brampton, added the venue to a
Canadian tour that already includes two sold-out appearances at the Air Canada
Centre. His September 26 show will raise funds for Brampton Civic Hospital in
honour of Peters' late father and as a tribute to better health care in the
community that some of his family members still call home.
The event has already begun to attract a great deal of attention since
its recent posting on www.russellpeters.com. The Foundation regularly offers
signature golf and gala experiences, but according to Colette Thomson,
Director, Community Giving, "Normally, at this time of year, people call us to
talk about our golf event but over the last couple of days, our phones are
ringing non-stop for details on the Russell Peters show."
Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster and at The Powerade Centre on May
4 at 10:00 a.m.. For more information about the event or about William Osler
Health Centre Foundation, visit www.oslerfoundation.org. Ticket information is
