OTTAWA, Oct. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Directors of the Royal Ottawa
Health Care Group today appointed Mr. George Weber as the Interim Chief
"George Weber brings more than 24 years of national and international
experience as a Chief Executive Officer to lead the Royal Ottawa and its
partners in continuing to deliver outstanding mental health services to the
residents of Eastern Ontario," said Scott Eaton, Chair of the Board.
Most recently, Mr. Weber was CEO of the Canadian Dental Association.
Previously he held positions as Secretary General of the International Red
Cross and Red Crescent and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross. As Interim CEO at
the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group, Mr. Weber will be working closely during a
transition period with Bruce Swan, the former CEO.
"The Board and I have mutually agreed not to renew my contract beyond the
current three year term. I am looking forward to pursuing other management
challenges while assisting in the smooth transfer of responsibilities to my
capable interim successor," said Mr. Swan.
During Mr. Swan's tenure as CEO, the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group went
through a major transformation, both in reorganization and the construction of
new mental health facilities. His interim successor will build on that firm

experience to the people in Eastern Ontario," said Mr. Weber.
The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group comprises mental health care centres
in Ottawa and Brockville as well as mental health research at the University
of Ottawa, a long-term mental health residence at Royal Ottawa Place and a
fundraising foundation. With a staff of 1,350 and an annual operating budget
