AFP Honours Awarded to Senior-Level Professionals in Treasury and
OTTAWA, Sept. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - Norman Toye of the Royal Canadian Mint
(RCM) is being recognized by the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP)
as part of the AFP Honours Program for 2007 - a list honouring professionals
who have reached the top of their fields in treasury and corporate finance.
The criteria for choosing the recipients, who were selected from a pool
of more than 100,000 corporate financial practitioners, consists of a rigorous
review of their professional qualifications, AFP membership and job title. In
addition, all practitioners were required to have earned the Certified
Treasury Professional/Certified Cash Manager designation, as proof of industry
knowledge. The AFP Honours recipients were chosen from a range of
corporations, agencies, government, academia and nonprofits.
"These individuals really strive to be the best in their profession and
it is our honour to recognize their achievements," said Jim Kaitz, President
and CEO of AFP. "They are exemplary for setting a high standard of excellence
in the profession."
The AFP Honors Program, in its fourth year, will acknowledge this year's
winners in the July/August issue of AFP Exchange magazine and on the AFP
Honours page of the AFP website.
"I'm deeply honoured to be recognized by the Association for Financial
Professionals and to be part of such a distinguished group of Senior-Level
professionals," said Norman Toye, Director of Treasury and Risk Management at
the Royal Canadian Mint.
Mr. Toye joined the RCM as Manager, Treasury in 1993, and was promoted to
Director, Treasury and Risk Management in 1996. In his current role, Mr. Toye
is responsible for creating and preserving corporate wealth by safeguarding
the Corporation's financial and physical assets, managing financial and
business risks and earning investment income. Prior to joining the Mint, he
worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Mr. Toye holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Queen's
University, Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser
University and has also earned two professional designations: Certified
Management Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional with Mastery of
Canadian Treasury Management.
