Mike Jordan to Become Chairman Emeritus
PLANO, Texas, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - EDS today announced its board of directors
has elected Ron Rittenmeyer chairman of the board. Rittenmeyer, 60, will also
retain the titles of president and chief executive officer. He will succeed
Mike Jordan, 71, who will become chairman emeritus and will step down from the
board of directors. Both appointments are effective December 31, 2007.
Jordan, who joined EDS in March 2003, will remain with EDS and serve as a
strategic adviser to the company's senior leadership team.
"This is the right time for me to relinquish my responsibilities as
chairman," said Jordan. "It's been a privilege leading EDS through its
transformation and working side-by-side with some of the best people in the
industry. I'm proud of what we've accomplished and believe Ron is the perfect
choice to lead EDS moving forward."
Ellen Hancock, presiding director of the board, said, "The entire board
appreciates Mike's steadfast leadership and invaluable contributions to EDS
during the past five years. Under his leadership, EDS has set a firm
foundation for sustainable, profitable growth and a return to market

Hancock. "As EDS prepares to enter a pivotal year in 2008, the board of
directors felt the timing was right to promote Ron to chairman. We have

Rittenmeyer joined EDS in 2005 as executive vice president of Service
Delivery and was later promoted to chief operating officer. In December 2006,
he was appointed president and chief operating officer. On September 1, 2007,
he was named president and chief executive officer.
