SUDBURY, ON, May 6 /CNW/ - Rockcliff Resources Inc. (RCR: Tier 1 TSX-V)
is pleased to announce that it has acquired, through staking, additional
properties covering numerous "high priority" VTEM airborne anomalies within
its Snow Lake Project located in central Manitoba. The properties are
associated with favourable rocks prospective for VMS mineralization. Thirteen
blocks of claims totalling 2,988 hectares were staked covering numerous VTEM
anomaly trends with strike lengths ranging from 100 to 2000 m. The staked
ground was part of Rockcliff's high priority staking program within their
Mineral Exploration Licenses (MEL). The MELs (approximately 130,000 hectares)
have since been surrendered back to the Province of Manitoba and Rockcliff now
controls 100% interest in the newly staked properties. The Snow Lake Project,
including the newly staked properties, now covers a total of 52,667 hectares
(527 km(2)) of highly prospective VMS ground within the prolific Flin Flon
greenstone belt. The belt is one of the most prolific and the largest
Paleoproterozoic VMS district in the world.
Kenneth Lapierre, President and CEO of Rockcliff commented, "With the
additional staking and surrendering of the MELs, the Snow Lake Project has
been streamlined to slightly over 52,000 hectares from its previous area of
over 180,000 hectares. The project continues to host five VMS deposits, the R1
VMS Zone, the Jackfish nickel zone and numerous untested base metal targets
with potential for discovery. Future exploration, including drilling, will
focus only on 'high priority' areas within the project".
