MONTREAL, Dec. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - Robex Resources Inc. (TSX-V: RBX)
announces that a deep drilling program has been completed on the Nampala gold
deposit in South Mali. A total of 916m, divided over three holes, was drilled
during the month of November. The first hole, 506m long, intersected, as
anticipated, altered and mineralized zones at depth. Drilling revealed a new
occurrence, that is, the presence of alterations in the lamprophyre, a rock
generally sterile in this context. The other holes, just as the first, also
intersected mineralization from surface. The last samples were sent to the
laboratory at the beginning of this week and Robex will get the analytic
The holes, spaced approximately 150m from one another on a West-East line
on profile 1234250N, were implanted towards the east with a 50 degrees
inclination. The goal of these holes was to intersect mineralized zones with
better grades at depth to confirm the hypothesis that grades increase with
depth on this structure, and to characterize and to better define the existing
mineralization in the tonalite and in the sediments.
The first hole implanted furthest to the west in the massive lamprophyre,
is 506m deep. It intersects the tonalite over 136m (from 136 to 272m) and
reaches the contact with sedimentary rocks (altered and mineralized) at 439m.
The second hole, implanted further east in the tonalite, intersects the
tonalite to a depth of 180m and ends at 325m in the lamprophyre. The third
hole begins, as expected, in the tonalite but was stopped at 85.5m because of
The mineralization and the alteration zones are usually found in the
tonalite and in the sediments. Surprisingly, the normally sterile lamprophyre,
shows patterns of alteration at depth.
