KIRKLAND LAKE, ON, Aug. 27 /CNW/ - RJK Explorations Ltd. ("RJK") (TSX
VENTURE: RJX.A) announces that it has completed the first 7 holes of a
reconnaissance drilling program on its Dorion South Platinum/Palladium Cu Ni
Drilling was conducted in three areas on the property. Two of the areas
were drill tested to confirm and expand on geological results obtained in a
previous historic drill program completed in 1965 as well as in one other area
to test a long, linear magnetic trend. Substantial intersections of magnetic
gabbroic rocks with trace chalcopyrite mineralization were intersected in the
drilling. A number of samples were submitted to Swastika Laboratories for
assay and were found to contain only trace amounts of Cu, Ni, Au, Pt and Pd.
Assaying was carried out at Swastika Laboratories. Standards, blanks and
duplicates were used in the samples submitted for analysis.
Additional drilling has been recommended by the company's consultant to
potentially locate the fissure vent(s) for a source of ultramafic peridotite.
RJK intends to follow this recommendation by completing a series of vertical
holes to depth at a number of sites specific to the strongest magnetic
anomalies within the intrusions.
RJK also announces that it has completed staking a new property
consisting of a substantial, roughly circular, magnetic anomaly northwest of
Thunder Bay, Ontario, covering approximately 1500 hectares. RJK was informed
of the potential of this feature by a local prospector with considerable
knowledge of the area. Recent prospecting has revealed mafic - ultramafic
rocks containing elevated copper values. A finder's fee will be paid to in
accordance to TSXV regulations.
