Ritchie Bros. breaking ground on new Chilliwack auction site



    CHILLIWACK, BC, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Richmond-based Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers
(NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world's largest auctioneer of industrial equipment,
will break ground on its new permanent auction site in Chilliwack, B.C. next
week. Among the dignitaries expected at the March 3, 2009 groundbreaking
ceremony: Chilliwack Mayor Sharon Gaetz and Ritchie Bros. CEO Peter Blake. The
24-acre auction site will replace the Company's eight-acre site in Surrey,
B.C. - one of 38 Ritchie Bros. auction sites worldwide.
    "We're excited to be breaking ground on our new permanent auction site in
Chilliwack," said Peter Blake, Ritchie Bros. CEO. "We outgrew our Surrey
auction site long ago and have been searching for an appropriate replacement
site for some time. The new Chilliwack location is ideal for our Lower
