Rising flood levels in Northern British Columbia disrupt VIA's service between Prince George and Prince Rupert



    VANCOUVER, June 5 /CNW/ - Rail Canada is advising passengers that due to
rising river levels in Northern British Columbia, the Skeena train service
between Jasper and Prince Rupert is being affected in both directions.
    Until further notice, train No.5 from Jasper to Prince Rupert will
terminate in Prince George. Train No.6 from Prince Rupert to Jasper will
originate in Prince George.

    
    To date the following trains are affected:
        -  June 6th, train No. 5, from Jasper to Prince Rupert, will
           terminate in Prince George.

        -  June 7th, train No. 6, from Prince Rupert to Jasper, will
           originate in Prince George.
    

    Since rising flood levels are also impacting road conditions, VIA is not
able to secure any alternate transportation at this time.
    VIA has also suspended all ticket sales between Prince George and Prince
Rupert until further notice.
    No other VIA service is affected by this situation at this time.
