Restoring Fire Fighter Memorial

McGuinty Government Helps Kick-Off Fundraising Drive

    TORONTO, Oct. 3 /CNW/ -

    NEWS

Ontario is contributing $100,000 to help restore the Ontario Fire Fighter
Memorial that was defaced by vandals last May.
Community Safety and Correctional Services Minister Rick Bartolucci
announced the McGuinty government's contribution today at the memorial site at
Queen's Park.
The Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association hopes to raise
$500,000 to restore the memorial, which honours firefighters killed in the
line of duty. Each year, the names of fallen firefighters are added to the
memorial in a special ceremony.
The public can make a contribution to the "Ontario Fallen Fire Fighter
Memorial Restoration Fund" at any TD Canada Trust branch in Ontario.

by cowardly and depraved vandals," said Community Safety and Correctional

fallen colleagues," said Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association
