McGuinty Government Receives French Language Services Commissioner's
    Report

    TORONTO, May 7 /CNW/ -

    NEWS

Ontario's French Language Services Commissioner, François Boileau,
released his Special Report on French Language Health Services Planning in
Ontario today.
The report addressed the provision of French-language health services in
Ontario. The Commissioner made eight recommendations to the government about
ways to enhance the delivery of high quality French-language health services
in Ontario.
The Office of Francophone Affairs (OFA) received the report on behalf of
the government and will work with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to
respond to the recommendations in the following weeks.

    QUOTE

"I thank the Commissioner for this important report and the government
will give his recommendations careful consideration. The OFA will continue to
work closely with the francophone community, the health ministries and the
health sector to ensure that Ontario's Francophones receive the health
services they deserve".
    - Madeleine Meilleur, Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs.
"We are seeking the best way to ensure Ontario's Francophone community is
involved and engaged as we continue to improve the province's health care
system. A Working Group, led by former Minister of Francophone Affairs Charles
Beer, is just one of the ways we are engaging the Francophone community and
ensuring the best approach to achieving francophone community engagement at
the LHIN level."
    - David Caplan, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care.
