REMINDER - Media Advisory - Science, Technology and Innovation Council Presentation on Canada's Innovative Economy to the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal



    MONTREAL, May 20 /CNW Telbec/ - Media are invited to join members of the
Science, Technology and Innovation Council (STIC) at an interactive
information session with the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal to
discuss the findings of Canada's Science Technology and Innovation System:
State of the Nation 2008, STIC's landmark Report on Canada's science,
technology and innovative system.
    In today's global environment, science, technology and innovation drive
economic success and ensures our quality of life. How does Canada stack up
against the world's most innovative countries? What are Canada's strengths,
vulnerabilities and opportunities? And how does Montreal contribute to
Canada's innovation system in the pharmaceutical and video games sectors, for
example?
    The Science, Technology and Innovation Council (STIC) has spent the past
year asking these questions and examining how Canada rates on more than 50
international standards of excellence including research intensity,
commercialization rates, quality of research and workforce skills.
