All-time monthly sales record for all-new 2009 Forester
MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 2 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced
that it set a new record for June results with sales of its lineup of
Symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive vehicles reaching 1,822 units, up
34.9 percent over last June. It was the seventh consecutive record month of
sales growth for SCI.
It was also the second consecutive all-time best month for Forester, with
the launch of the all-new, third-generation model driving sales to a record
high 781 units - 152.8 percent more than were purchased in June of 2007, and
39 units more than the record set just one month ago. Impreza sales also
continued to be strong, with monthly retails of 718 units up 29.4 percent over
the same month last year. And total Tribeca sales reached 72 units in June, a
jump of 53.2 percent over last June.
"It is especially satisfying to have such a great month when the industry
as a whole is struggling," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of SCI.
"Consumer response to the new Forester has been phenomenal, and Impreza
continues to have enormous appeal for drivers who want lots of sporty
performance in a vehicle that's affordable and fuel-conscious."
