Real Wood Floors: Medallions Offer Unique Design Options

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 15 /CNW/ -- It used to be that keeping up with the
Joneses was what most consumers aspired to, but that is no longer the case.
Today's consumer wants to do the Joneses one better by choosing items that are
truly unique and reflect their own personal style.

One of the ways to accomplish that in your home or business is by adding
a medallion to your new or existing wood floor. Medallions are design
elements that are installed in the main field of the floor and provide a
defined focal point. Typically, they are located in prominent areas of the
home or office, such as an entry foyer, in front of a fireplace, or on a
stairway landing, but they can be incorporated anywhere you want to create
unique visual appeal.
Medallions can be composed of multiple wood species, or can incorporate
other mixed media, such as stone, metal and leather. Prefinished medallions
can be purchased directly from the manufacturer and routed into existing wood
floors with minimal mess and disruption to your home or office. For more
customized looks, such as a family crest or a corporate logo, a professional
wood flooring installer can work with you directly to select the species and
colors that will best meet your needs.
