RCMP lays charges in 1.5 million dollar GST fraud



    TORONTO, Feb. 4 /CNW/ - The RCMP's Greater Toronto Area Commercial Crime
Section in Newmarket has charged a Toronto man with five counts of fraud
following the conclusion of a six month investigation.
    An arrest warrant has been issued for Fernando Acosta (65), formerly of
Juliet Crescent in Toronto. The RCMP alleges that Acosta submitted over
1.5 million dollars in fraudulent GST claims in 2001.
    Acosta's currents whereabouts is unknown and police are seeking the
public's assistance. Acosta is described as a white male with grey hair,
5"9" tall and weighing 160 pounds. A photograph of Acosta is available through
the RCMP.
