CALGARY, June 9 /CNW/ - Today, RBC kicks off a week of celebrations in
communities throughout Alberta and the Territories. Community Week is RBC's
way of recognizing its clients and the people and organizations who help
create stronger, better communities across Canada.
This week, branches throughout the province and the Territories will host
client appreciation events and celebrate partnerships with local charities.
"We consider it a privilege to be a member of so many communities across
Alberta and the Territories," says Bruce MacKenzie, regional president,
Alberta & the Territories. "Community Week allows RBC to celebrate and give
back to the communities where we live and work and say thank you to our
clients for allowing us to be a part of their lives."
As part of the celebrations, a significant donation of more than $110,000
will be made to charities in Alberta and the Territories. Each charity was
chosen by their local RBC branch and reflects what RBC employees feel are
important to the people in their community. Donations range from after-school
programs and environmental initiatives to hot lunch programs and health care
