MONTREAL, April 10 /CNW Telbec/ - On April 11, 12 and 13, Standard Radio
Montreal, better known as CJAD 800, Mix 96 and CHOM 97.7 will hold the 4th
Annual "Caring For Kids Radiothon" to benefit The Montreal Children's Hospital
of the McGill University Health Centre. During the three days, radio
personalities will broadcast their shows live from the cafeteria of The
Children's between 5:30am and 7pm. The stations' regular programming will be
punctuated with stirring testimonials from sick children, parents, former
patients as well as healthcare professionals and will serve as a reminder of
the expertise and the caring touch that characterizes The Children's. This
year, close to 100 patients and their families will share their story with the
audience. Media are invited to witness this incredibly moving experience first
hand during broadcast hours.
"Standard Radio is committed to the communities in which we broadcast.
Our efforts with The Montreal Children's are part of Standard Radio's
national initiative to help raise millions for children's hospitals
across the country. The key is that we are helping, as it is only through
the generosity of our listeners that these funds are being raised."
Gary Slaight - President and CEO Standard Broadcasting Ltd.
More than 400 volunteers will be helping with the effort, taking time off
work to answer the phones and take donations at The Children's. All funds
raised will go towards meeting the most urgent needs of the Hospital, which
includes medical and surgical equipment and funding for innovative projects.
Donations can be made by calling 514-939-KIDS (5437) or 1-888-939-KIDS
during radiothon hours or by visiting The Montreal Children's Hospital
