MONTREAL, Oct. 9 /CNW Telbec/ - Dr. Naomi Azrieli, Executive Director of
the Azrieli Foundation, and Tamarah Feder Program Manager of the Holocaust
Survivor Memoirs Publishing Program cordially invite the media to attend the
inaugural launch event for the Azrieli Series of Holocaust Survivor Memoirs at
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Salle Gesù.
The event will launch and celebrate the first series of six memoirs from
this unique, philanthropic program that collects, edits, publishes and
distributes the written memoirs of Holocaust survivors who came to Canada. Of
the six memoirs being released, two will be in English only, three will be in
French and English, and one, full-colour fully illustrated, will be in French
only. Advance excerpts may be obtained, as well as full colour book covers.
Following Mme Veil's keynote address, selected readings from the series
will be given by Rachel Shtibel and Marguerite Elias-Quddus, two of the memoir
authors, Me. Eric Sutton, the son of the man and woman who saved the life of
memoir author Tommy Dick, and Professor Adele Reinhartz, daughter of author
Henia Reinhartz. All participants in the event including Dr. Azrieli, Mme
Veil, Ms. Feder and the authors and readers will be available for interviews
before and/or after the event.
