    MONTREAL, Nov. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - In cooperation with Montréal
International, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) invites the media to
attend the official inauguration of its new annex on November 14, 2007, at
11:00 am.
    The event, which will attract numerous guests from the field of
statistics, the business community and international organizations, will took
place in the presence of the honourable senator Pierre-Claude Nolin,
Richard Deschamps, associate councillor for economic and sustainable
development, City of Montréal, and Hélène Latouche, Assistant Deputy Minister
for Analysis and Policies, Ministère des Relations internationales du Québec.
    The UIS was established in 1999 to meet the growing needs of UNESCO
Member States and the international community for statistics in the fields of
education, science and technology, culture and communication.

    
    What:  Official inauguration of the new annex of the UNESCO Institute for
           Statistics

    Where: The UNESCO Institute for Statistics Headquarters
           5255 Decelles Avenue, 7th Floor
           (On the campus of the University of Montréal)

    Guided tours of the new annex will be conducted. A reception will follow.
