STORY SUMMARY: In 1541 Jacques Cartier set sail on his third voyage to
the New World with orders to find the riches of the mythic "Kingdom of
Saguenay". Cartier never did find this mythic land, but he did discover
precious stones at present day Quebec City and named his find the "Cap
Diamant". Unfortunately, when he returned home to France his diamonds turned
out to be nothing more than quartz and thus the french proverb "Faux Comme un
diamant du Canada (false as a Canadian Diamond) was coined.
With today's announcement of a positive Preliminary Economic Study for
the Renard Diamond Project, located in North Central Quebec, Stornoway Diamond
Corporation is one large step closer to bringing some truth to the
inaccurately named "Cap Diamant" in Quebec City.
