/R E P E A T -- The Year's Hottest Giftware Trends Are In Full Bloom at the Spring 2009 CGTA Gift Show/

    - Over 18,000 Retail Buyers Flock to Canada's Largest Gift Trade Show -

TORONTO, Jan. 23 /CNW/ - The weather outside is frightful, but Spring has
already arrived for thousands of retail buyers, manufacturers and distributors
inside the country's largest gift trade show, the Spring 2009 CGTA Gift Show,
taking place January 25th - 29th. Twice each year the Canadian Gift and
Tableware Association fills more than 1.3 million square feet of exhibit space
with the newest and most exciting innovations in giftware and home décor,
giving retailers their first look at the year's hottest trends and a chance to
stock their shelves with the best new products for the coming months.
Special show seminars offer a unique opportunity for independent
retailers to learn from industry experts such as HGTV's sassy design duo Colin
McAllister and Justin Ryan, hosts of Home Heist, who will reveal how the right
design philosophy can transform a retail space into a work of art. At Kitchen
Spotlight, a demo kitchen full of new and best-selling housewares, buyers can
taste delicious gourmet products and test drive tabletop items from more than
200 exhibitors. StoreWorks, a one-of-a-kind simulated retail store, provides
retailers with complimentary expert advice on creating effective displays that
drive sales.
For more than 25 years, the CGTA show has been the birthplace of trends
and the hub of the $10-billion giftware industry. Over five days, retail
buyers from around the world discover the must-have items for '09 at the
International Centre and the Toronto Congress Centre, including the new 30,000
square foot Congress Centre North Building. The show attracts more than 18,000
retail buyers from across Canada, the United States and abroad and more than
1,100 exhibitors in key retail categories including home and décor; bed, bath
and linen; gourmet foods; jewellery/fashion accessories; souvenir;
Canadian-made products and stationery to name a few.
