TORONTO, June 11 /CNW/ - Live, laugh and golf, and make sure you get a
lot of spa services on the way. The Children's Aid Foundation trades the
boardroom for the back nine with its 8th annual Women's Golf Classic on
June 17th, 2008. Supported by presenting sponsor Rogers Group of Companies and
founding partner Transamerica Life Canada, 144 female executives come together
to raise funds for neglected children and youth across the country.
"The Women's Golf Classic allows participants to enjoy an exciting and
fun-filled day while raising funds for abused, neglected and high-risk youth,"
said Ann Barnard Ball, acting executive director, Children's Aid Foundation.
"The tournament allows women to band together for an important cause".
With the Women's Golf Classic, golf is only secondary. Women pull up to
the course for complimentary valet parking and car washes. Participants then
enjoy a multitude of spa services including mini-manicures and massages prior
to their 11am shotgun start. Evening activities include a silent auction with
over 70 items, a cocktail reception and a dinner hosted by famous sports
anchor Jody Vance.
"The Special Events team at the Children's Aid Foundation works
diligently to provide a tournament that stands out," said Ashley Le Roux,
events manager, Children's Aid Foundation. "Golfers know that participating in
the Women's Golf Classic means a day of golf and service while benefiting a
cause they avidly support."
The Women's Golf Classic tees off on Tuesday, June 17th, 2008 at the
Wyndance Golf Course in Uxbridge, Ontario. On course activities include a
multitude of food and beverage sampling, contests for golf gear, and a hole in
one challenge for a new 1-Series Cabriolet. More information about this
premiere tournament can be found at the Children's Aid Foundation website at
