MONTREAL, Aug. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of the 15th anniversary of
Pointe-à-Callière's 18th-Century Public Market, you are cordially invited to a
press conference taking place on Tuesday, August 12 at 5 p.m. Historian
Jacques Lacoursière will present a short lecture on various facets of the
history of food in New France. Mr. Lacoursière has been part of the activities
in Old Montréal every year since the very first Public Market. His
presentation will be followed by a tasting of foods inspired by New France,
prepared by Pierre Lavallée, chef at L'Arrivage restaurant.
This media event will take place at L'Arrivage restaurant, on the 2nd
floor of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, 350 Place Royale, Old Montréal, in the
presence of Pointe-à-Callière's Executive Director, Ms. Francine Lelièvre.
Presented by l'Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA), the
Pointe-à-Callière's 18th-Century Public Market is a free event taking place on
August 23 and 24 in the area surrounding the Museum.
