Rink" at Yonge-Dundas Square for shoot-out and exhibition game fundraiser

    TORONTO, Jan. 23 /CNW/ - COLD-FX is giving Torontonians a different kind
of flu shot: no needles required. As an Official Supplier for the Vancouver
2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games - COLD-FX wants Torontonians to step
on the ice this Saturday, January 24th, and take their own shots at the
world's number-one ice sledge hockey goalie - Canadian Paralympian, Paul Rosen
- in support of Canada's Paralympic athletes. For one day only, Yonge-Dundas
Square will transform into home ice, as people of all ages step onto the
COLD-FX Flu Shot Rink (no skates required) and pay a toonie to go head-to-head
with Rosen, whose team won the ice sledge hockey gold medal for Canada at the
Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. Following the shoot-out, spectators will
be treated to a sledge hockey exhibition with some of Canada's rising ice
sledge hockey stars, surrounded by music and giveaways throughout the day.
"We're asking folks to come down for an afternoon of fun with me and the
COLD-FX team to support our country's athletes," says Rosen. "I'm looking
forward to taking on anyone who wants to try and score on me. It's going to be
an awesome day."
Rosen regularly uses COLD-FX to stay healthy on and off the ice and is
now one of the new faces of COLD-FX as he prepares for the Vancouver 2010
Paralympic Games. COLD-FX is Canada's No.1 selling cold remedy, and helps
reduce the frequency, severity and duration of cold and flu symptoms by
boosting the immune system.
