MONTREAL, Jan. 27 /CNW/ - Olympic dreams will be put on ice this
Wednesday, January 28th, as COLD-FX(R) - Official Supplier for the Vancouver
2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games - teams up with Montreal figure
skating star Joannie Rochette to teach aspiring young Olympians some of the
moves that have made her a champion. Local children from the city's skating
clubs will lace up for a master class with the Olympic athlete at the Atrium
Le 1000, following her own exclusive performance.
At just 23, Montreal native Joannie Rochette is one of Canada's finest
figure skaters. Beginning at a young age, her determination and discipline led
to the top of the podium, in both national and international competition.
Joannie placed 5th at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, and won her fifth
consecutive national title at the Canadian women's figure skating championship
last weekend in Saskatchewan. Joannie is poised to take on the 2010 Olympic
Winter Games with the energy, youthfulness, and tenure of a repeat champion.
"Skating is a huge passion of mine and I want to share it with as many
young people as possible," says Rochette. "I'm looking forward to skating with
some of Canada's future Olympic athletes!"
