/R E P E A T -- Media Alert: LCBO Queens Quay BBQ/South African wine fair helps send kids with cancer to camp/

    TORONTO, June 3 /CNW/ -

WHAT: LCBO Queens Quay store and its suppliers are presenting their
annual barbecue in support of Camp Oochigeas, one of Ontario's
foremost camps for kids with cancer. The barbecue is open to the
public and all proceeds go to the Camp.

LCBO Senior VP of Retail Operations Roy Ecker and store staff will
present Camp Oochigeas Executive Director Rob Drynan with a cheque
for $135,000. This represents donations from suppliers
participating in LCBO in-store tastings and anticipated proceeds
           from this year's barbecue.

Fundraising activities include skill-testing games, silent auction
and raffles for trips to Cuba, Nassau and California, as well as
live music. The Queens Quay barbecue is one of the longest-running
and biggest fundraisers for Camp Oochigeas, raising more than
$750,000 in the last 16 years.

The Wines of South Africa trade association is also supporting the
Camp and saluting the 50th anniversary of the LCBO Queens Quay
store with a free wine fair at the store following the barbecue.
The public is invited to sample from a wide range of South Africa
wines paired with a variety of artisanal cheeses from Ontario and
Quebec. The Fair runs June 6 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., June 7 from
           1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and June 8 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Suppliers
are covering the cost of the Fair and donating the money to the
           Camp.

Located on a private lake outside Rosseau, Ontario, Camp Oochigeas
opened in 1984 as a residential summer camp for kids with cancer.
Camp Ooch, as it is affectionately called by the kids, offers
eight weeks of summer camp for children with cancer and bereaved
siblings; weekends at camp throughout the fall and winter, as well
as year-round programming. It also remains the only residential
camp in Ontario to provide on-site chemotherapy and blood
           transfusions.
