GIANT ING DIRECT TFSA THANK YOU CARD STOPS IN VANCOUVER ON THE WAY TO
    PARLIAMENT HILL

VANCOUVER, Jan. 12 /CNW/ - Have you ever thanked the Tax Man for
anything? Neither have we! But Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSA) have given all
Canadians a reason to thank the Tax Man this year.
January 1, 2009 marked the first time Canadians over the age of 18 can
contribute up to $5,000 per year in a variety of different investments
including savings accounts, GIC's, mutual funds and stocks, and earn interest
tax-free. TFSAs can be used to save for both long- and short-term goals and
most notably offer the ability to carry forward unused contribution room,
while allowing for any amount withdrawn from the account to be re-contributed
at a later date.
To celebrate the advent of tax-free savings, and thank the government for
legislating them, ING DIRECT has designed a giant thank you card which will
travel across the country over the next several weeks collecting signatures
from Canadian savers. The card will be delivered to Parliament Hill by the end
of January.
