/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Ride for Sight, 31st Annual Motorcycle Parade, Departs Saturday, June 20th/



    TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - Jim Caruk, host of HGTV's Real Renos, is used to
doing renovations, but this Saturday, June 20th he will help build a better
future for Canadians losing their sight to eye disease. Jim will ride with
hundreds of motorcyclists in the 31st annual Ride for Sight in support of the
Foundation Fighting Blindness, Canada's leading private charity, funding
vision research.
    The Ride for Sight motorcycle parade will travel 113 km from Toronto to
Collingwood for a weekend festival, including a concert by legendary rocker,
Kim Mitchell on Saturday night, Bike Games, Show n' Shine, Motorcycle Demo
Rides, and Vendor Marketplace. Since it began over 30 years ago in Central
Ontario, it has raised more than $17 million. The money will benefit the
nearly one million people losing their sight due to degenerative eye diseases.

    
    WHEN & WHERE:

    Saturday June 20th at the International Centre, Mississauga, parade
    departs at 10:00 a.m.

    WHO:

    Jim Caruk, Host of HGTV's Real Renos; Mayor Hazel McCallion of
    Mississauga; Dale Turner, first Canadian to have some vision restored
    after receiving a new gene therapy, will be at Ride for Sight.

    ROUTE:

    Via Airport Rd, County Rd-91, Hurontario St., St Paul St.

    Toronto/GTA Media: The parade heads northwest on Airport Rd. / Regional
    Rd. 7 and continues to follow Airport Rd. East.

    Simcoe Media: Approx. 90 minutes from departure, parade comes north from
    Duntroon, along this road at County Rd 91, east of County Rd 124 (at the
    rolling hills).
