    OTTAWA, Aug. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - The Federation of Canadian Municipalities
(FCM) and the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) will release results
of a major survey on Canadians' attitudes toward rising gas prices on Sept. 1.
    The survey notably looked at the impact of rising gasoline prices on
household finances and transportation choices.
    FCM President Jean Perrault, Mayor of Sherbrooke, Que., CUTA Chair Steve
New, Chief Operating Officer of BC Transit, and Timothy Wolstencroft of the
Strategic Counsel, which conducted the survey for FCM and CUTA, will brief
reporters by telephone at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
    The survey results will be posted on the FCM website (www.fcm.ca) at
10:00 a.m. EDT.
    President Perrault, Mr. New as well as Mr. Wolstencroft will be available
for interviews following the briefing.
