    GUANTANAMO DETAINEE

TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - Dennis Edney, Canadian legal counsel for
Canadian citizen and Guantanamo detainee Omar Khadr, will join prominent
Canadians and community leaders at a media conference on Wednesday, February
11 to announce a plan for Khadr's repatriation to Canada, including
comprehensive measures for his rehabilitation and reintegration into Canadian
society.
Edney and supporters will announce their plan in advance of US President
Barack Obama's visit to Canada on February 19.
"President Obama has reversed his predecessor's policy and signed an
executive order to shut Guantanamo," says Edney. "All the more reason, then,
to discuss plans to bring Omar Khadr home to be dealt with through Canadian
justice, and ultimately, to be rehabilitated and reintegrated into Canadian
life."
