MONTREAL, Aug. 21 /CNW Telbec/ - The media are invited to the
inauguration of an island of greenery offered by the Port of Montreal to the
community to offset the carbon that will be emitted during its open house day
Port in the City. More than 50 trees will grace the new island.
The inauguration will take place on Monday, August 25, 2008 at
11:00 a.m., at the Terrain des Soeurs, located at the intersection of
Notre-Dame Street East and Hector-Barsalou Street, in Montreal.
The ceremony will be held in the presence of Patrice M. Pelletier,
President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority, Maka
Kotto, Member of Parliament for Bourget, Francine Lalonde, Member of
Parliament for La Pointe-de-l'Ile, Lyn Thériault, Mayor of the
Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough, and Claire St-Arnaud, City Councillor
of the Maisonneuve-Longue-Pointe district.
