Come and see the skills of our Olympic synchronized swimmers and divers
before they leave for Beijing
MONTREAL, July 23 /CNW Telbec/ - The synchronized swimmers and divers who
will represent Canada at the Beijing Olympic Games invite the public to come
say hello to them at the Parc Jean-Drapeau diving pool for an event called "En
route vers Pékin au Parc Jean-Drapeau" presented by Bud Light, official
sponsor of the International Olympic Committee.
Quebec divers Emilie Heymans, Roseline Filion, Meaghan Benfeito and
Jennifer Abel will show off their skills, and members of the national Olympic
synchronized swimming team will perform for Quebec fans the routines they have
prepared for the Beijing Games. Sylvie Bernier, Canada's Chef de Mission for
the 2008 Olympic Games, will also be in attendance.
After other displays, including performances by newcomers in both sports,
the audience will be able to give the Olympic athletes their personal
good-luck wishes during an autograph session. There will also be a draw for
Bud Light's gift of an all-expenses-paid four-day trip to Beijing for two
lucky spectators (valued at $15,000).
For security reasons, only 800 people will be admitted to this free
family event, on a first-come first-served basis. Risers and chairs will be
specially installed around the pool.
