LEVIS, QC, Feb. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - For the very first time, Desjardins
Group is offering its members the chance to chat online with two RRSP experts,
thereby giving members the chance to learn everything there is to know about
During the online sessions, which will take place on February 17 and 23
from noon to 2:00 p.m., Desjardins members will be able to get answers to
their questions about RRSPs and retirement planning.
"Using the Internet to talk to our members about retirement, and more
specifically about RRSPs, is a major first for us. Financial education has
always been part of Desjardins Group's mission, so it was only logical for us
to continue on that path, to be innovative and to move toward using modern
means of communication," stated Martin Chouinard, Director of the Wealth
Management Department - Self-Directed Investors.
To join in on the discussion, Internet users should go to
www.desjardins.com/rrspchat. Users must first make sure that a firewall does
not block their access to the site and that they have Java (version 1.1 or
higher) installed on their computer. In some cases, it may also be necessary
to install a plug-in.
"In these uncertain economic times, it is very likely that there will be
many questions about financial issues and retirement, and we are already
expecting a high amount of traffic on our site during the chat sessions,"
added Mr. Chouinard.
