A Story in the Spirit of Family Day
TORONTO, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - After a fire devastated their home only three
months ago, Wayne and Erin, a Caledon couple with a young child and one
on the way, needed to rebuild their home and fast. Receiving only a
modest insurance payout, the circumstances were overwhelming for the
family. Taking their special circumstances into consideration, Quality
Homes and Sears Canada Inc. have found an opportunity to come together
to provide the family with a beautifully furnished home at a great
value in only four months.
"Quality Homes is happy to have helped Wayne and Erin overcome the
exceptional circumstances they faced in rebuilding their house after a
fire claimed their home just three months ago," said Howard Sher,
Executive Vice President at Quality Homes. "Now the family will be
able to celebrate two new beginnings when they welcome their newborn
into their new home."
Wayne and Erin purchased a model home from Quality Homes, an award
winning custom builder who considered the family's situation into the
cost. Along with a special price and quick delivery, the builder
offered a full ten-year structural warranty, which is three years more
than the industry standard.
The model home the family purchased is currently a dream home on display
at the National Home Show in Toronto. Sears Canada had outfitted the
home for the display during the event. Upon learning that the model
home was sold to a family whose house had been lost in a fire, Sears
Canada, along with the help of its suppliers, graciously donated all
the products on display in the model home to Wayne and Erin to help
ease the financial burden of outfitting a new house.
"The model home was outfitted with furniture, lighting, linens, dishes,
small appliances and art as well as major appliances, including a
refrigerator, stove, over-the-range microwave, washer and dryer," said
Cindy Jardim, Director of Brand Development for Home Décor at Sears
Canada, "and we are pleased that we are able to donate these to Wayne
and Erin to help make their house a home."
In addition, Sears will provide the family with the custom closets in
the bedrooms and laundry room that are also on display in the model
home at the National Home Show, adding the finishing touches to the
house and ensuring as comfortable a transition as possible for the
Along with the items used to outfit the model home, Sears is showcasing
an extensive range of products and services and is offering 2-for-1
admission to the National Home Show on "Sears Day" happening Wednesday,
February 23rd for tickets purchased online. More information on advanced ticket
purchases is available on www.sears.ca under "Home Installation Services" located on the bottom navigation

The National Home Show runs February 18th to 27th, at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. The model home will be
delivered directly from the show to Wayne and Erin's new foundation in
Caledon and will be ready for occupancy only three weeks later. From
