Putting children's mental health first



    RBC DONATES $50,000 TO PETAWAWA CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

    PETAWAWA, ON, Oct. 3 /CNW/ - Today, RBC presented a $50,000 donation to
support children's mental health programs in the Petawawa community.
    The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families received a gift of $40,000.
"This donation will help develop programs for families dealing with issues
such as deployment to Afghanistan," said Greg Lubimiv, Executive Director of
the Phoenix Centre.
    The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families provides evidence based,
children's mental health related resources for emotionally distressed families
in Renfrew County.
    "We are thrilled with RBC's commitment to this important cause," said
Lieutenant Colonel Bill Moore. "The Phoenix Centre provides a crucial service
to the military community and the new resources from the Royal Bank of Canada
will significantly improve the ability of our families to deal with the
challenges they face."
    A second gift in the amount $10,000, was donated to the Petawawa Public
Library to develop a self-help family resource section which will provide
children, parents and youth with information they can use to improve their
well being.
    "Supporting children's mental health is a key priority for RBC," said Rod

communities to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential."
