e-Reports(TM) Allows Easy Access to Patients' Clinical and
MONTREAL, June 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Purkinje, a leading provider of
Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management software, is proud to
announce the unveiling of its e-Reports(TM) module. The module, which is an
integral part of the Purkinje/Dossier product suite, allows users to access
demographic and clinical data in order to define, display and print reports.
User-friendly and bilingual, e-Reports was designed with the healthcare
professional in mind: users need only enter desired demographic or clinical
search criteria for the application to generate a report that can be either
displayed or printed. The module allows the users themselves to create and
modify several types of reports, including appointment lists, recall lists,
patient lists, labels and letters.
What makes e-Reports so innovative is its ability to generate reports
based on over 40 demographic and clinical parameters such as patient age,
gender, attending physician, medication, diseases, immunizations, lab results
as well as text fields. The module is highly flexible: diseases, for example,
can be specified either by name or by related code (ICD-9, ICD-9CM, ICD-10,
ICD-10 CA, etc.) and Purkinje clients can search for medications using a
drug's name, class or DIN code. Reports are customizable, and users can also
call upon Purkinje's Professional Services' team to design new reports
specific to the needs of their healthcare facility or a research study.
"Purkinje is entering an exciting period of growth as evidenced in
several recent contracts. Furthermore, Purkinje is continuously expanding and
adapting its software suite as the market evolves," explains Mary-Anne
Carignan, General Manager, Canadian Operations. "The new e-Reports module,
which clearly meets the needs of the healthcare professional, is a true
testament to our commitment to expand the features and functionalities of
Purkinje/Dossier. Our goal is to increase the value of our software to our
clients and increase our presence across Canada."
e-Reports(TM) has already been implemented in different types of
healthcare facilities in Canada, including the Listowel Memorial
Hospital/North Perth Family Health Team's shared Electronic Health Record. Dr.
Rob Annis, Chief of Staff of the Hospital and Chair of the Family Health Team
Board uses the software to mine the clinical data in the Purkinje/Dossier
database. "This powerful new searching tool allows us to answer specific
population based questions from our 5 year old clinical database. This
information is available quickly and easily, and will facilitate program
planning for our health team, management decision making, and primary care
Stephen Lafferty, Director of Product Management at Purkinje, adds that
the engineering team works closely with clients in order to develop
applications that are easy to use and help them work more efficiently. "What
makes Purkinje/Dossier so powerful is the structured and coded data. With
e-Reports, our clients can access this data and produce reports that will help
them make decisions, manage their time, and ultimately provide better care to
their patients," he concludes.
