MONTREAL, Sept. 5 /CNW/ - Following an early morning two-car freight
derailment near Causapscal, Québec, VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise
travellers that regular train service on the Chaleur and Ocean has been

As a result, VIA has also been forced to suspend ticket sales on the
Ocean and Chaleur between Rogersville (New Brunswick) and Rivière-du-Loup
Consequently, VIA will not be able to accept bicycles or pets on either
the Ocean or the Chaleur.
VIA has not yet received information as to how long it will be before the
rail line, the property of Matapédia and Gulf Railway, will be cleared and
regular train service can resume.
The Chaleur operates from Montréal to Gaspé every Wednesday, Friday and
Sunday and from Gaspé to Montréal every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The Ocean operates in both directions between Montréal and Halifax every
day except Tuesday.
