Public Service Announcement - VIA Services in Eastern Québec Disrupted Following Track Washout Near Percé, Quebéc



    MONTREAL, Nov. 7 /CNW/ - Due to a track washout recently caused by
flooding near Percé, Québec, regular VIA Rail Chaleur services between New
Carlisle and Gaspé, in both directions, have been affected.
    The washout has forced the cancellation of all rail traffic in the area.
VIA has arranged for alternate transportation for customers travelling between
New Carlisle and Gaspé. These arrangements will remain in place until further
notice.
    VIA has not yet been advised of when it may be able to return to regular
operations.
    VIA train No. 16 operates from Montréal to Gaspé every Wednesday, Friday
and Sunday. VIA No. 17 operates from Gaspé to Montréal every Monday, Thursday
and Saturday.
    VIA wishes to apologize for any inconvenience and for the expected delays
this disruption may cause to its passengers. Customers wishing further
