Public Service Announcement - Military training exercise in Saint-Alban, Portneuf

VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Sept. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Approximately thirty
soldiers from 5 Field Ambulance will conduct a training exercise mostly in the
municipality of Saint-Alban, in the Portneuf region, from September 2 to 4,
2008. This exercise mainly focuses on maintaining the skills of members of an
operational support platoon.
The bulk of activities will be held at the Old Saint Alban II Plant
Interpretation Center. There, troops will for example practice certain
concepts of mechanical maintenance, resupplying, and field kitchen operations.
Although training manoeuvres will occasionally take place at night, noise
will be limited to vehicle movements. Neither weapons nor munitions will be
used at any time.
Manoeuvres conducted outside the garrison add an element of realism to
the scenarios and give military members an opportunity to build ties with the
civilian population.
