Psychiatric survivors charge MPP with human rights violations

TORONTO, Jan. 30 /CNW/ - Nine psychiatric survivors file human rights
complaints tomorrow (January 31) against a Toronto area MPP at 11:00 a.m. at
the Ontario Human Rights Commission, 180 Dundas Street West, 8th floor media
room. The matter rests on the MPP's written remarks about a supportive housing
development in his constituency.
"I believe this public figure's condemnation of the proposed housing and
his insulting letter created a poisoned environment for myself and other
mentally disabled people," says Linda Chamberlain, one of nine people who will
file complaints of illegal discrimination tomorrow at the Human Rights
Commission.
